Synopsis
Sauced Santa follows a washed-up, alcoholic Santa Claus who's been drunk since 1952 and can't remember signing any of the corporate deals that ruined Christmas. Mrs. Claus is exhausted, the elves are burned out, the reindeer are unionizing, and good kids keep getting tangerines while bad rich kids get PlayStations. Every episode, Santa recognizes the problem, promises to change, and immediately fails — cracking open another eggnog as the credits roll. It's The Simpsons meets BoJack Horseman at the North Pole: cynical, absurd, and just heartfelt enough to hurt.
Lore
Santa Claus was once a powerful forest spirit who wore green and brown robes and delivered handmade gifts to children based purely on whether they were naughty or nice. Christmas had real magic. Then in 1931, a Coca-Cola advertising executive showed up at the North Pole with a contract and a case of bourbon. Santa signed the deal blackout drunk, thinking the red suit was a bathrobe. That was the first domino. Over the next century, Santa kept drinking and kept signing — Hallmark, Toys "R" Us, Amazon, Disney — each deal chipping away at the magic until Christmas became nothing but a corporate machine. Now the naughty and nice list has been replaced by an algorithm that rewards rich kids and ignores poor ones. Santa knows he broke Christmas. He just can't remember how.
